Android R to include scrolling screenshots

Android Q is still in its early stages, with the third beta being released recently and a public launch scheduled for Q3 2019, but we're already starting to hear about new features coming to Android R.

Google is planning to add support for scrolling screenshots to Android R. The company previously marked that feature as "infeasible" in the Google issue tracker, but now Dave Burke has revealed on Twitter (via Android Police) that scrollable screenshots has been "added to the hopper for Android R". Burke is the VP of Engineering for Android at Google.

Because we're so far away from Android R's actual release, it's possible that scrollable screenshots won't make it into the update. Maybe Google it'll take longer than Google expects or maybe the feature will get canned altogether. For now, though, this is good news to hear. Scrollable screenshots are a nifty little feature that can help make your life easier by stitching together multiple screenshots, like of a long webpage, and some Android device makers have already added the feature to their custom UIs. Now it may become built into Android.

Are there any features you'd like to see added to Android R along with scrollable screenshots?
