The first teaser for the OnePlus 7 hinted that the device will be "fast and smooth", and now OnePlus has confirmed a feature that'll contribute to that fast performance.
The OnePlus 7 series will have UFS 3.0 storage, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed. That means that both the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will come with the speedy storage built-in.
"OnePlus 7 Pro having UFS 3.0 storage means it’ll just be overall faster than comparable smartphones."
Yes, the OnePlus 7 Series will include UFS 3.0 to give you next level #fastandsmooth experience. #OnePlus7Series

UFS 3.0 storage is super fast, with Samsung touting earlier this year that its UFS 3.0 solution is four times faster than a SATA SSD and 20 times faster than a typical microSD card. It's also got a sequential read rate that's twice as fast as its predecessor, UFS 2.1, coming in at 2,100MB/s.
This speedy storage should help to make the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro feel fast. While we don't yet know most of their hard specs, it won't be a surprise if OnePlus crams Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 855 processor into its OnePlus 7 series phones, which would contribute to their speediness.
OnePlus will officially unveil the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 on May 14th.
