Google reportedly launching new Pixel phones, smartwatch, and Google Home this year

We're still several months away from when Google will likely announce new Pixel phones, but today a report claims to have info on all of the new mobile hardware that Google will reveal in 2019.

Google is prepping a new, lower-priced smartphone for launch this year, according to sources speaking to Nikkei Asian Review. The device will be aimed at price-sensitive customers and people in emerging markets, and it'll reportedly be priced below Apple's $749 iPhone XR. This device is likely the Pixel 3 Lite, which leaks have shown with a 5.56-inch screen, Snapdragon 670 processor, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Also planned for release this year is a new premium Pixel phone, today's report says. However, details on this potential Pixel 4 were not given.

Phones aren't the only new pieces of hardware that Google has planned for launch in 2019, according to today's report. Google is also working on a new smartwatch, something that recent Google job listings hinted at, as well as an updated Google Home smart speaker. Also said to be in the works is a new home security camera.

Google hasn't made any announcements about new hardware yet this year, but many of the products that today's report claims are coming would make sense. As mentioned before, we've seen several Pixel 3 Lite leaks that've given us early looks at the lower-priced Pixel phone, and it's likely that Google will also launch a flagship Pixel 4 to compete against Samsung and Apple's flagships. Following Google's $40 million acquisition of Fossil smartwatch tech and its wearable-related job listings, a Pixel smartwatch also seems like a strong possibility. And considering that it's been nearly three years since the Google Home was announced, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Google intro an updated model soon.
