LG G7 ThinQ begins receiving Android Pie update, timing for other devices also revealed

Another flagship smartphone has begun getting its update to Android Pie.

The LG G7 ThinQ is now getting updated to Android 9.0 Pie. The update is currently rolling out in South Korea, weighing in at a hefty 1357.51MB. LG's changelog for the update mentions new features like a gesture home button that lets you drag up to view your recent history or drag left and right to view your recently used apps.

The changelog also mentions tweaks like adjusting the setting to adjust the media volume when the volume button is pressed, the addition of a battery-saving feature, and a "Sunset to sunrise" setting in the easy-to-view mode. LG has also added a dual app functionality that'll let you install another social network or messenger app to use with a different account.

Also of note is that, as spotted by Reddit user mjkwak, LG has shared a list of other phones that'll be updated to Pie. The LG G7 and LG V35 will be updated beginning in Q1 2019, with the LG V30, LG V30S, and LG V40 to follow in Q2 2019. The LG G6, LG V20, and LG Q8 (2018) will be updated in Q3 2019, and the LG Q9 and LG X5 (2018) will get Pie in Q4 2019.
