Google Maps is already great at helping you find things to do and getting directions to those things, and now the app is getting even more helpful.
Google appears to be testing crash and speed trap reporting in Google Maps. Some Google Maps for Android users have spotted the feature recently, but Google hasn't made any official announcements about this feature, so it's likely just in small scale testing right now.
When in navigation mode, Google Maps will show a new report button near the bottom of the screen. Tap it and you'll be able to tell the app if you've encountered a crash or speed trap.
Waze is a popular navigation app because it can show you things like crashes and speed traps, and years after buying Waze, it looks like Google is planning to bring one of that app's best features into Google Maps. Crash and speed trap reporting would be great to see in Google Maps since some people prefer that app to Waze. However, since the feature is only in testing right now, it's unclear when or if it'll roll out publicly. Stay tuned.
