LG Watch W7 smartwatch may debut alongside LG V40 ThinQ

We already know that the LG V40 ThinQ will be unveiled on October 3rd, but apparently that won't be the only new piece of hardware that LG shows at that event.

LG is planning to introduce a new smartwatch called the LG Watch W7 alongside the LG V40 ThinQ, according to prominent leaker Evan Blass. A report from earlier this year claimed that the watch, then known as the LG Watch Timepiece, will offer features like a round 1.2-inch 360x360 LCD screen, 4GB of storage, 768MB of RAM, and a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. Also included will be IP68 water and dust resistance along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but no cellular connectivity is expected.

Rounding out the upcoming watch's rumored specs is a 240mAh battery, a stainless steel case, and "highly precise quartz movement" along with physical watch hands that are allegedly meant to help extend battery life and ensure accurate time tracking.

It's worth noting that Qualcomm recently introduced a new Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor for smartwatches which is expected to begin appearing in devices in Q4 2018. If this LG Watch W7 does indeed come to market with an older Snapdragon Wear 2100 instead, that'll be a bit disappointing. We'll just have to wait for October 3rd to roll around to see exactly what this new watch is made of.
