LG V40 ThinQ images leak, reveal triple rear camera setup and display notch

Rumors have suggested that the LG V40 ThinQ will have a total of five cameras when it comes to market later this year, and today a new leak has reinforced those reports.

New renders have leaked that allegedly show the front, back, and sides of the LG V40 ThinQ. Shared by MySmartPrice, the images show an LG-branded phone with three rear cameras aligned horizontally in a position like the LG V30, with a fingerprint reader below them. Previous rumors have suggested that this triple rear camera setup will include a standard camera sensor, a super wide angle camera, and a telephoto lens.

Around front there's a notch that appears to house two more cameras, which past rumors have suggested that LG will use to enable 3D facial recognition. It also looks like the LG V40 ThinQ will let you "hide" the notch by blacking out the status bar, like on the LG G7 ThinQ.

Other notable features of this LG V40 ThinQ include a SIM tray, power button, volume rocker, and what is likely a dedicated Google Assistant button on the sides of the phone. On the bottom there's a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C port as well as a speaker.

It's been suggested that LG could introduce the V40 ThinQ in mid-September, so it may not be long before we officially meet the device. Other rumored features for the device include a Snapdragon 845 processor and Quad DAC, which wouldn't be a surprise for an LG flagship in 2018. The five total cameras are sure to be the highlight of this LG V40 ThinQ, though, and so we're looking forward to seeing how they perform and how LG's rumored 3D facial recognition feature will work.
