OnePlus 5T gets first Android Oreo beta as OnePlus 5 beta brings Face Unlock

OnePlus has unleashed some beta goodies for folks willing to put early software on their phones.

First up, OnePlus has released the first OxygenOS Open Beta build based on Android Oreo for the OnePlus 5T. This update includes Oreo as well as the December 2017 Android security patches, launcher improvements, and more:

Updated to Android O (8.0)
Launcher

  • Optimized the app shortcut style
  • Combine icon options with app shortcuts
  • Now able to upload photos to Shot on OnePlus

System

  • Added Picture in Picture
  • Added Auto-Fill
  • Added Smart Text Selection
  • New Quick Settings design
  • Updated Android security patch to December

To get this update, you'll need to follow the instructions found here. Keep in mind that this is a beta update, so you may encounter bugs while using the software.

OnePlus also has a treat for OnePlus 5 owners. The release of OxygenOS Open Beta 3 brings with it Face Unlock, a feature that launched with the OnePlus 5T and is now being offered on the OP5 as well. 

In addition to Face Unlock, this update brings optimizations for vibration, general bug fixes and improvements, and the December 2017 Android security patches:
