Google Contacts app now available to devices on Android 5.0 and up

Another Google Android app is now available for non-Google devices.

Google’s Contacts app can now be downloaded by any device running Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher. To get it, just head to the Play Store and start your download.

The most recent update to Google’s Contacts app also includes the ability to merge duplicate contacts from within the contacts list as well as automatic suggestions for adding info to your existing contacts.

Google has offered its Contacts app to Nexus, Pixel, Android One, and Google Play Edition devices for a while, but the fact that it’s now available to any device on Android 5.0 or up greatly expands its availability. This is exciting news because not only is Google’s Contacts app an attractive, clean way to view your contacts, but it can also help to give your device more of a “pure Android” feel if that’s what you’re after.
