Google releases June security updates with fix for Pixel freezing issue

If you’ve got a Google Pixel or Pixel XL that’s been suffering from freezing issues, then you’re going to want to keep an eye out for Google’s latest software update.

Google has released the June security update for Nexus and Pixel devices, which includes the latest Android security patches. The company has also confirmed that the update includes a fix “that should address many of the freezing issues that have bene reported” by Pixel owners.

The update is now rolling out over the air, so if you haven’t seen it yet, it should arrive in the coming days. If you’re feeling impatient and you’re comfortable with side loading an update, Google is also offering the factory images and OTA images for this June security update.

It can be frustrating when you’re trying to use your phone and it keeps freezing, especially if you’ve got a flagship device that’s less than one year old. Here’s to hoping that this new update does indeed fix the freezing issues affecting some Pixel and Pixel XL units so that those owners can go back to using their phones like normal.
