ORIGINAL: Last month, a report claimed that Amazon is working on a new Echo device with a built-in display. Now an image of that device appears to have leaked out.
An image of the device has been shared by AFTVNews, who found the product shot on Amazon’s servers. The image is fairly low-res, but we can see a large rectangular display with what may be a speaker below it. Above the display is a small circle that may be a camera.
There aren’t many details available for this device, but a report from April claimed that it could make its official debut as soon as this month.
An Amazon Echo device with a screen could be a handy assistant device, showing you info like the time, weather, and more on its display and then answering more complicated queries with voice. The display could also be used for displaying things like recipes, and if the small circle above the screen is a camera, then this device could offer video chat support, too.
