Moto G5 Plus and Alcatel A30 launching at Amazon as discounted Prime Exclusive phones

Last year, Amazon launched its Prime Exclusive program that offers discounted smartphones that include personalized offers and ads on their lock screens. Now the program is expanding to include new phones.

Amazon is adding the Moto G5 Plus and Alcatel A30 to its Prime Exclusive program. The Moto G5 Plus is priced at $184.99 with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is $239.99. The Alcatel A30 is $59.99.

To compare, the 2GB/32GB Moto G5 Plus normally sells for $229.99 ($45 off) and the 4GB/64GB model is $299.99 ($60 off). The Alcatel A30 normally sells for $99.99 ($40 off).

All three of these phones are available for pre-order today. The Moto G5 Plus will be released on March 31, while the Alcatel A30 will launch on April 19.

As a refresher, the Moto G5 Plus runs Android 7.0 Nougat on a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display and includes 12-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, a microSD card slot, octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, and a 3000mAh battery.

The Alcatel A30 features a 5-inch HD display, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 16GB of storage, and a microSD slot. There’s also a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. On the software side, the A30 is packing Android 7.0 Nougat.

As with previous Prime Exclusive phones, both the Moto G5 Plus and Alcatel A30 come with personalized ads and offers that are shown on their lock screens and are only available to Amazon Prime scubscribers. They also come preloaded with Amazon apps. All of this Amazon-ness may turn off some folks, but if you’re a regular user of Amazon services or you just don’t mind seeing Amazon on your lock screen, these Prime Exclusive phones offer a way to get a shiny new smartphone at a significant discount.
