How about a blue iPhone, Apple?

Today, Apple launched a new iPhone without much fanfare. That's because it's just a new color, so doing anything other than simply updating the Apple Online Store (in preparation of its arrival) and issuing a press release would probably be overkill. But, here we are, nearing the end of March 2017, and we've got a new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

That new color is red. (PRODUCT)RED, to be specific. As it stands right now, that means the iPhone 7 lineup comes in Red, Black, Jet Black, Rose Gold, Silver, and Gold. Six colors is certainly nothing to frown over, and it's better than two.

And yet, I want more.

This isn't because I don't think six colors is too few or anything, or even that I think the colors are bad. I might not be a fan of the silver model all that much, or that white front, but choice is a good thing. And that Rose Gold option, while not for me, is certainly eye-catching.

I want more because I miss colors. To be specific: Nokia-level of color options. Red is a great start! Of course, it's not that surprising, considering the history between Apple and (PRODUCT)RED, so while I wish I could say this new color option is a hint at things to come, I think that might be wishful thinking.

But, wish I'm going to do, because I want even more color options. I want a blue iPhone. (Remember those rumors that we were going to get a blue iPhone, and how great those concept images looked?) An orange iPhone would be pretty great, too!

The iPhone 7s (and 7s Plus) might be the last chance we get at this, because we're certainly not going to see it in the iPhone 8 -- if that device even really exists. Apple's going to be so focused on revamping design and specs, I wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone 8 came in two colors. Or even one, honestly.

So if we're going to get even more color options, Apple's efforts might be in this space, and it might take several years before we get even more color options with the iPhone 8's successors. Still, I'll swing for the fences when it comes to a blue iPhone.

But, what about you? Are you going to pick up the red iPhone 7 or 7 Plus? Would you like to see even more color options come to the fore? If you could vote for any color iPhone, what would you want to see come to reality?
