Sony Xperia L1 is a new Android Nougat phablet that's coming to North America

Sony’s got a new Xperia smartphone, and it’s coming soon to North American shores.

The Sony Xperia L1 is a new Android Nougat phablet with a 5.5-inch 1280x720 and slim side bezels. Sony touts that the L1 also features a “smooth, rounded frame” that makes it easy to hold.

Powering the Xperia L1 is a quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and there’s also 16GB of storage included that you can supplement with a microSD card if you’d like. Powering this package is a 2620mAh battery that you’ll recharge using USB Type-C.

Rounding out this new phablet’s feature set is a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and NFC.

Sony has confirmed that the Xperia L1 will make its way to North America in April.

There’s no word yet on how much the Xperia L1 might cost when it launches, but considering its spec list, it could end up being pretty easy on the wallet. If that turns out to be the case, the Xperia L1 could be a nice option for folks that want an affordable Android phablet thanks to its clean design and slim bezels.
