Google Home now supports shopping from more than 50 retailers

Google Home is one of the few devices that officially supports Google Assistant, and today Home’s Assistant is getting beefed up.

Google is adding shopping support to Google Home. Starting today, you can tell your Google Home to order something for you, and it’ll purchase your desired product from more than 50 national and local Google Express retailers. Those include Costco, Whole Foods, Walgreens, PetSmart, and Bed Bath & Beyond.

To get started, you can ask Google Home “Ok Google, how do I shop?” or you can just start requesting purchases by saying things like "Ok Google, order paper towels". You can set up your info by going into the Google Home app, selecting “More settings”, then scrolling to “Payments”. You can then enter your credit card info and delivery address.

Through April 30, 2017, Google Home shoppers can avoid additional service or membership fees.

Because it’s made by Amazon, one of the biggest features of the Echo is its ability to order things from Amazon. Now Google Home can order products for you, too, which is important because Home is one of the Echo’s biggest competitors.
