Pokémon Go adding new monsters today along with limited edition Holiday Pikachu

There’s been a lot of exciting Pokémon Go news lately, and today developer Niantic announced some more big news.

Pokémon Go is adding new monsters from the Pokémon Gold and Silver games. These include Togepi and Pichu and “select others”, and Niantic says that they’re the first of new Pokémon coming to Pokémon Go in the coming months. These new Pokémon will hatch from eggs, so you’ll need to get out there and walk to get them.

These new Pokémon will begin appearing in Pokémon Go later today, December 12.

Also coming later today are new Holiday Pikachu. Between December 12 and December 29, you’ll see a limited edition Pikachu that’ll be wearing a festive hat.
