AT&T reportedly thinking about stopping all Galaxy Note 7 sales

Yesterday AT&T said that it would allow Galaxy Note 7 owners concerned about the safety of their device to exchange it for something else. Now a new report claims that AT&T is considering taking things a step further.

AT&T is thinking about completely stopping sales of the Galaxy Note 7, according to a source speaking to Bloomberg. An AT&T spokesman declined to comment on the report.

While it’s unclear if AT&T will actually stop sales of the Note 7, the US carriers are likely starting to think of Samsung’s phone as a headache. After launching in August, nearly 100 Note 7s in the US overheated, and then the carriers had to pull the device from their shelves and exchange those phones with safe models. Now a report claims that a replacement Note 7 overheated, too, and the carriers are letting Note 7 owners swap their device for a different one if they’d like.

If AT&T does stop Note 7 sales, it’d be a big deal for Samsung, because AT&T is the second largest carrier in the US. Plus, AT&T pulling the Note 7 from its shelves could result in other carriers doing the same thing.
