How would you change the iPhone 7?

On September 9, pre-orders for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus went live. A week later, on September 16, both devices officially went on sale. As was par for the course with these high-profile iPhone launches, stock wasn’t as plentiful as some people might have liked, and even those who stood in line weren’t able to get the phone they wanted.

But, that didn’t keep a lot of people from getting the phone they wanted. Whether it was from pre-orders or standing in line, a lot of people out there in the real world were able to get an iPhone 7 and/or iPhone 7 Plus ever since launch day. The reviews are in, too, most of them focusing on how the new iPhones are all about embracing the future today.

The new phones have a lot of changes, and plenty of new features, and some of them are polarizing. Even for the people who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Apple’s new flagships, some of these alterations, when actually adopted, might not feel all that great.

So, I’m curious.

I’ll just start with the most obvious thing: the missing 3.5mm headphone jack. It obviously caused quite a brouhaha when it was made official, despite the fact Apple wasn’t the first company to do it, but I don’t really think it’s about Apple dropping the jack so much that it’s about Apple setting a precedent. Rumors have it that Samsung’s moving in the same direction. Eventually it seems, almost inevitably, all smartphones might not have the headphone jack sooner rather than later.

But, here we are right now, with Apple’s new iPhones not boasting the jack, and I’m wondering if it’s as big a deal for you, the people that own the device. Are you using the adapter at all? Or have you adopted the Lightning EarPods? Have you gone completely wireless instead?

And then there’s the other change, which, I could see actually being a bit bigger of a deal. The new Home button that isn’t a button at all. Apple has gone the capacitive and haptic feedback route, which means activating the Home key isn’t actually pushing a button anymore, but rather getting a simulation of doing such. I’ve already seen quite a few people who’ve said they have accidentally activated Siri, or Reachability, thanks to the feature. If that were to happen on a regular basis, I could imagine that being an issue.

So how are you liking the iPhone 7 at this point? What would you change about Apple’s new flagships? Would you go back to the standard Home button? Bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack? Or, give the 4.7-inch display on the iPhone 7 higher resolution? Let me know!
