If it seems like Pokémon Go has been everywhere over the past couple of weeks, well, now we know why.
Apple has revealed that Pokémon Go earned more downloads in its first week than any other app in App Store history. Apple didn’t share exact download numbers, though, so it’s unclear exactly how many downloads the app got. As of this writing on July 22, though, Pokémon Go is the number one app on both the App Store’s Top Free and Top Grossing app charts.
Pokémon Go has been slowly rolling out to various countries around the globe, including hitting Japan this week. It originally debuted in just Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S., which makes today’s news from Apple even more impressive. The app has also been suffering from intermittent server issues that prevent players from loading the game, but at least for now, the Pokémon Go craze appears to be going strong.
