A little more than a month after Samsung introduced its Batman-ified Galaxy S7 edge, the company has taken the wraps off of another special edition phone.
The Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition is now official, boasting a design that includes the five colors of the Olympic rings. The body of the phone is black, the earpiece and accent around the home button are yellow, the power button is red, the volume buttons are green, and the accent around the rear camera and the Olympic rings logo are blue.
Samsung is also incorporating the Olympic ring colors into the software of this special GS7 edge. For example, Samsung says that these five colors will be incorporated into the UI, the home and lock screens, and the notification bar. There will be Rio 2016 Olympic Games wallpapers included with the phone, too.
So how can you get one? If you’re an Olympic athlete, you’ll get one for free, because Samsung is giving a GS7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition to all 12,500 Olympians, along with a free set of Gear IconX earbuds. Samsung does plan to offer the phone to us regular folks, too, with 2,016 (get it?) units becoming available on July 18 in select countries like Brazil, the U.S., China, Germany, and Korea. In the U.S., the GS7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition will be available at Best Buy.
What do you think of this limited edition Galaxy S7 edge? Do you like its Olympic ring-inspired accents or do you prefer the black and gold Batman GS7 edge?
