Honor 5C debuts in Europe with octa-core processor, metal body, and Android 6.0

After debuting the Honor 5X earlier this year, Huawei’s sub-brand has taken the wraps off of the latest member of its budget-friendly family.

The Honor 5C made its official debut in the Europe today following a reveal in China in recent months. The 5C is now available for pre-order from Vmall for £149.99 ($219 USD) in the U.K. and €199.99 in the rest of Europe ($226 USD), which is a bit less than the Honor 5X’s current £169.99/€229.99 price tag.

The new Honor 5C runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display. Of course, Android is running beneath Huawei’s customer Emotion UI 4.1 interface, which offers features like a storage cleaner for freeing up space on your phone, custom icons, screen recording, and more. The Honor 5C also boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Honor 5C’s shell is made of an aluminum alloy, and it’s got ridged edges to help you get a grip on your metal phone. Inside of that body lives an octa-core Kirin 650 processor that’s touted as having a 100 percent increase in the power of its Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) over the Kirin 620 processor. There’s also 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a non-removable 3000mAh battery that’s charged using the 5C’s microUSB port.

The Honor 5C previously made its debut in China, and now its made its way to Europe. Honor’s India branch is teasing an event on June 22 that’ll show a phone powered by the same Kirin 650 processor found in the 5C, so it’s looking like the 5C will make its way to India later this week.
