Acer Liquid Zest Plus is a new Android phone with a 5000mAh battery

Acer today held a big event in New York City, and while most of what was shown were PCs and laptops, there was a new smartphone on display.

The Acer Liquid Zest Plus is an Android phone with a 5.5-inch display and a 13-megapixel rear camera with what Acer says is a “tri-focus” camera, meaning that it supports three different autofocus systems: laser autofocus, phase detection autofocus, and contract detection.

Perhaps the most notable feature of the Liquid Zest Plus is its battery. The device is equipped with a 5000mAh, which is considerably larger than most other smartphones on the market. For example, the HTC 10 has a 3000mAh battery, the LG G5 has a 2800mAh battery, and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has a 3600mAh battery. Acer says that the Liquid Zest Plus also supports fast charging, so you can charge its massive battery in a hurry.

There’s no word on when the Acer Liquid Zest Plus will launch, but whenever it does, it’s expected to cost less than $250. If battery life is an important feature when you’re shopping for a new smartphone, though, the Liquid Zest Plus and its 5000mAh battery could be worth keeping an eye out for.
