T-Mobile reportedly prepping Simple Choice Data-Only plans

Love your smartphone but hate phone calls? T-Mobile may soon have the rate plan for you.

An image leaked to TmoNews shows that T-Mobile may be prepping Simple Choice Data-Only plans. As the name suggests, these plans don’t offer any voice service, but they do offer high-speed data and unlimited texting. Here are the various data bucket’s that’ll reportedly be available when the plans go live on March 30:

  • 2GB for $20 per month
  • 6GB for $35
  • 10GB for $50
  • 14GB for $65
  • 18GB for $80
  • 22GB for $95

There are a few other details worth mentioning. According to the leaked image, the Simple Choice Data-Only plans will only be available for GSM devices, and they won’t be eligible for T-Mobile’s $10 Automatic Mobile Internet Discount. Finally, it’s said that BlackBerry users will need a BB10 or Priv device in order to sign up for a Simple Choice Data-Only plan.

None of this is official until T-Mobile says it is, but these Simple Choice Data-Only plans could please a lot of folks. Many people now rely largely on text-based solutions for keeping in touch with others, and there are also VoIP apps like Skpye available for those times that you do need to actually speak to someone. If that sounds like an ideal scenario for you, then you may want to keep an eye out for this Simple Choice Data-Only plan later this week.
