Apple Support now has a Twitter account

One thing that Apple is known for is its customer support, including the Genius Bars in its stores. Now Apple has another way to reach it when you need help with a problem.

Apple today launched the @AppleSupport account on Twitter. The account says that it’ll “provide tips, tricks, and helpful information” to its followers, and it’ll answer any questions that you might have, too. That’s mainly what the @AppleSupport feed consists of so far, with Apple posting hundreds of tweets in the hours since the account went live.

The @AppleSupport account has been verified, so you know that it’s the real deal. Interestingly, it looks like the account has actually been live in June 2015, but its first tweet was posted earlier today.

Apple has long offered support at its Genius Bars and over the phone, but with this @AppleSupport account on Twitter, it now has a quick, text-based method of helping its customers. Some folks may not want to travel to a store or sit on the phone with a customer support rep when they have a problem, but many of them probably wouldn’t have a problem with firing off a tweet or two. Those are the people that @AppleSupport exists to help.
