Almost exactly one year after it was first announced — Leap Day is responsible for the “almost” part — the HTC Vive is officially available for pre-order.
As expected, HTC is now taking pre-orders for its Vive virtual reality headset. Orders are expected to begin shipping on April 5. With each pre-order, you’ll get a full HTC Vive kit, which includes two wireless controllers, tracking and room scale sensors, and the headset itself. Each pre-order also includes the games Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption as well as Google’s Tilt Brush app.

When the Oculus Rift VR went up for pre-order in January, the first shipments were expected to begin shipping in March, but ship dates quickly started getting pushed back by months. There’s a lot of hype surrounding the HTC Vive, so I wouldn’t be surprised if its ship dates start getting pushed back, too. That means that if you want to be among the first to get a Vive into your home, you’re going to want to get your pre-order in quickly.
