iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro now expected to debut on March 21

It was previously thought that Apple would introduce us to the iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro on March 15, but new reports say that the event has been moved back nearly a week.

Sources speaking to BuzzFeed News says that Apple is now aiming to host its iPhone SE event on March 21. The well-connected Jim Dalrymple chimed in on that report, saying that it “sounds right” to him. Interestingly, that date is one day before Apple is set to meet the government in court and argue about whether or not Apple should help the FBI access the San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone.

The two stars of Apple’s upcoming event are expected to be the 4-inch iPhone SE and a 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The iPhone SE will reportedly look similar to an iPhone 5s but offer improved specs, like the A9 processor found in the iPhone 6s. Meanwhile, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will reportedly pack many of the features of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro — like Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard support — into a smaller body. Finally, it’s expected that Apple will show new Apple Watch bands at the even, including new Sport band colors and a black Milanese loop.

Now we have to wait for Apple to send out invitations for its upcoming event and confirm the date on which we’ll meet its new smaller iPhone and iPad Pro devices.
