Microsoft Lumia 650 shows its face in leaked press image

Following some images that showed what the Microsoft Lumia 650 may look like based on leaked information, an actual press shot of the unannounced Windows phone has surfaced.

Shared by Evan Blass, the image shows the face of a Microsoft-branded Windows 10 Mobile smartphone. There’s not really much that we can glean from the press shot since it’s just a straight-on image of the Lumia 650’s face, but we can see the volume and power/lock keys on its side as well as the dark sections on the top and bottom of the phone that house the headphone jack and charging port, respectively.

The Lumia 650 is rumored to come equipped with a 5-inch 1280x720 display, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 1GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 210 or 212 processor. Other features like NFC, Wi-Fi calling support, and Quick Charge 2.0 support are also expected to be included.

While the Lumia 650 may not sound particularly notable, it could actually be a special phone. It’s rumored that the 650 will be the last Lumia smartphone, bringing an end to a line that started years ago with Nokia. Windows phone may not have a huge chunk of market share, but the Lumia line has spawned some respectable phones, like the Lumia 800 and Lumia 1020, so it’ll be a bummer to see it come to an end. That said, Microsoft may not be done with phones altogether, as it’s said that a new smartphone is being worked on by Panos Panay, creator of the Surface.

Rumors suggest that the Lumia 650 will be made official in mid-February.
