Facebook Sports Stadium wants to help you follow a game and chat with your friends

Facebook is making some big tweaks to its apps, some of which are are rolling out now and others that’ll come in time.

Facebook Sports Stadium is a new feature that’s now rolling out to the Facebook app for iOS, with other platforms expected to get it “in the coming weeks.” With Facebook Sports Stadium, you can simply search for a game and get all of the Facebook content related to the game will appear. You’ll get the live scores, a play-by-play, stats, and game info like what TV channel the game is on if you’d like to watch it live. You’ll also see posts and comments from your friends as well as posts from experts like teams and journalists.

The Facebook Sports Stadium feature is now working with American football games, so you’ll get your first chance to try it out this weekend with the Patriots v. Broncos and Cardinals v. Panthers match-ups. Facebook says that it’ll be adding support for other sports like basketball and soccer “soon.”

Previously, you could get information like live scores and play-by-play in an app like ESPN’s, but if you wanted to talk about the game with your friends, you’d have to open another app like SMS or Facebook. Facebook is aiming to make Sports Stadium your go-to experience for sports, helping you to keep up with the game and chat with your friends about it at the same time. It looks like it could be a good way to take in a game, even if you’re just using it as a second-screen experience, so here’s to hoping that Facebook gets it out to other platforms quickly. Perhaps it’ll hit ‘em in time for the Super Bowl?

In other Facebook news, the social network says that it plans to add more 3D Touch features to its iOS app. The new features will include the ability to peek and pop links and profiles, which will let you open a preview of the content before actually opening it, and a “quick view” shortcut that’ll take you from your iOS home screen to your timeline.

Facebook says that while these features are rolling out to a small group of people right now, it’ll hit everyone “over the coming months.” The Facebook app currently offers three 3D Touch shortcuts that’ll let you take a photo or video, upload a photo or video, or write a post from your home screen.
