After launching a trio of unique Android apps back in August, Google’s Creative Lab is back today with something new.
Meter is a new live wallpaper for Android devices that’ll display real-time stats and information about your device. Those include battery life, Wi-Fi connection, and notifications. Each wallpaper features a clean design with colorful shapes. For example, the battery life wallpaper shows a large dark purple circle with a fuchsia circle inside of it that’ll shrink as your battery life goes down.
It’s not often we really hear about live wallpapers on Android anymore, but Google’s Meter looks interesting. Not only does it provide useful information about your device at a glance, but it does so in an attractive, minimal way that fits in nicely with the Android OS. Of course, the information shown by Meter can also be found in the status bar of an Android device, but Meter is an attractive way to give yourself a new wallpaper and monitor some phone stats at the same time.
