AT&T HTC One M9 will get Android 5.1 and 'camera improvements' starting July 15 [UPDATED]

UPDATE: Versi says that the T-Mobile and Verizon versions of the HTC One M9 are "on track" to begin getting Android 5.1 on July 20.

Quick, HTC One M9 owners, turn your phone around! If there’s an AT&T globe logo on there, then I’ve got some good news for you.

HTC’s Mo Versi says that the AT&T One M9’s Android 5.1 update has been approved and that it’ll begin rolling out tomorrow, July 15. Most of the changelog is still up in the air for now, but Versi does say that the update will bring “camera improvements.”

The Android 5.1 update adds a few small UI enhancements and some bug fixes, but I’m sure that AT&T One M9 owners will be most excited about the update’s camera improvements. At launch, the One M9 caught a lot of flak for its camera performance, but HTC has been working to push out software updates and improve the M9’s shooter. If you’ve got an AT&T One M9, you’ll have to take a few shots after updating tomorrow to see how the camera performs after getting these “improvements.”
