OnePlus 2 will have a larger battery than its predecessor

Time to add another spec detail to the list of confirmed features for the OnePlus 2.

Today several members of the OnePlus team took part in a Reddit Ask Me (Almost) Anything session focused on the OnePlus 2, and the crew revealed an interesting tidbit about their next big Android phone. The OnePlus 2 will have a 3300mAh battery, up from the 3100mAh battery found in the OnePlus One, but the 2 will be smaller than the One.

Despite having a larger battery, the OnePlus 2 will be smaller than the One, says the team. They posted a photo that claims to show a OnePlus 2 beneath a One, but since the One is bigger than the 2, we can’t actually see any part of the new phone.

While the OnePlus 2’s battery isn’t substantially larger than the OnePlus One’s, getting any extra battery at all is better than having a battery that’s the same size or smaller. That’s especially true when we talking about flagship hardware like the OnePlus 2.

The OnePlus 2 will be officially revealed on July 27. So far it’s been revealed that the phone will pack a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, a fingerprint reader, a 3300mAh battery, and a USB Type-C port. OnePlus has said that the OnePlus 2 will cost less than $450.
