BlackBerry has snatched up AndroidSecured.com and .net domains

We’ve seen a lot of leaks and rumors suggest that BlackBerry may be working on an Android phone, and now we’ve got another tidbit of info that may support the rumors.

It’s been discovered that BlackBerry bought AndroidSecured.com and AndroidSecured.net yesterday, July 7. The Whois records show that the registrant organization behind both sites is “BlackBerry Limited” in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Yep, sounds like the BlackBerry we all know.

While these domains don’t straight-up say “Hey, we’re making an Android phone,” they could eventually be used as a way to promote BlackBerry-made Android products. BlackBerry is all about security, and so they could used a site called “Android Secured” to promote how safe and secure their Android products are.

The rumor mill has suggested that BlackBerry is prepping an Android phone codenamed “Venice” that offers a touchscreen and physical keyboard in a slider form factor. You can check out a leaked image of the device here.
