Android M will come to the HTC One M9, One M9+

Now that Android M is official, the question on the minds of many Android device owners is, “Will my phone get it?” We’ll likely get many answers to that question in the coming months, but today we can definitively answer “Yes” for owners of two HTC models.

HTC has confirmed that both the One M9 and One M9+ will be updated to Android M. When asked about when other devices — including the One M8 — might get Android, HTC said that it doesn’t yet have update details for any other models.

Because the One M9 and One M9+ are HTC’s two currently flagship smartphones, it’s not entirely surprising to hear that they’ll get updated to the next major version of Android. Still, it doesn’t hurt to get confirmation straight from HTC. I’m sure that HTC’s planning Android M updates for some more of its phones as well, but because M was just announced yesterday, HTC likely wants to take some time to examine the update for itself before making any other announcements.
