Remember that Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM that OnePlus hinted at during the kurfuffle about Cyanogen, Inc., Micromax, and India? Well if you’ve got a OnePlus One and like to use pre-release software, you can try that ROM right now.
OnePlus has released an alpha build of its Android 5.0 ROM for the OnePlus One, with emphasis on the “alpha”. OnePlus says that the build is so early that there aren’t any extras included beyond what comes with the stock, AOSP version of Lollipop. OnePlus will build on top of that OS and customize it in future updates, but it promises to keep the software “bloat-free with stock-Android-like simplicity”.

Of course, since this is an alpha build, there are a few bugs that you should be aware of:
If you’re not already familiar with terms like TWRP, Google Mobile Services, and flashing, you should probably stay away from this alpha build. Even if you don’t install it, though, it’s nice to see OnePlus giving us an early look at its Lollipop ROM, and I’m sure that there are some OnePlus One users that are excited to try AOSP Android 5.0 on their device.
If you do decide to flash this Lollipop build on your OnePlus One, be sure to tell us how it’s working for you!
