Today OnePlus is celebrating its first birthday, and it’s doing it in a big way.
OnePlus today unveiled the OnePlus Power Bank, a 10,000mAh external battery pack that had been teased yesterday. The OnePlus Power Bank comes in Sandstone Black or Silk White, just like the OnePlus One itself, and has two USB ports with 5V/2A outputs. OnePlus says that the Power Bank is coming soon.
Additionally, OnePlus is making the OnePlus One available to everyone once again today. You can now buy the 16GB Silk White or 64GB Sandstone Black versions of the OnePlus One without an invitation for $299 or $349, respectively. OnePlus says that the sale will run “while supplies last.”
If you’d prefer to win a OnePlus One, you can try your luck by wishing OnePlus a happy first birthday on Vine. To enter you must follow OnePlus on Vine, create a Vine video with a birthday message for the company and then include “#HappyBirthdayOnePlus” in your post. The contest will run through December 24.
Finally, OnePlus is holding a contest to determine the name of its custom Android ROM. You can submit a suggestion in a Google form, and on December 31, OnePlus will select 10 finalists from that form (those 10 people will win Power Banks) and another 10 finalists from oneplus.cn. Of those 20 names, 1 winner will be chosen on January 11. That person will get a 64GB OnePlus One and a trip to Hong Kong to meet the OnePlus team.
So yeah, OnePlus is going all out for its first birthday. The OnePlus Power Bank seems like a nice battery pack, especially for the price, but we’ll have to wait until we can actually get our hands on one before making any judgments about it. And hey, you can once again buy a OnePlus One without an invitation if you missed out on the company’s other recent open sales events.
