YouTube Music Key will let you watch ad-free music videos, stream tunes

Streaming music services are coming out left and right nowadays, and today we’ve got another one to keep track of.

YouTube Music Key is now officially official, and as you might expect from a YouTube-built music service, it’s got a heavy focus on video. Signing up for Music Key will let you listen to music and watch music videos on your mobile device without ads and continue to play back those tunes when you switch to another app. The music will continue to play if you lock your device’s screen or disconnect from the Internet as well. Additionally, a YouTube Music Key subscription comes with Google Play Music, Google’s standalone music streaming service that is home to more than 30 million tracks.

YouTube Music Key will launch in beta form, and to sign up, you can head to this page and register your interest in the service. It’ll start out at $7.99 per month, but will be bumped up to $9.99 per month in the future.

YouTube’s new music service sounds like a nice service for folks that love music videos, even if they aren’t as big and mainstream as they were many years ago. The fact that it comes with a Google Play Music subscription makes it even more enticing, especially if you can get in during the $7.99 per month period.
