After giving us a preview of its Q3 2014 results earlier this month, HTC today handed off the official numbers and gave us a bit of color on the quarter as well.
HTC says that it pulled in a quarterly revenue of NT$41.9 billion ($1.376 billion USD) and a net profit of NT$0.6 billion ($19.686 million USD).
HTC CEO Peter Chou described the quarter as “challenging” for his company, but he points out that HTC managed to pull in a profit despite facing an “intensely competitive environment.” HTC says that its Desire line of smartphones gave a strong performance, with the Desire 510 and 610 showing good demand in the US and Europe while the Desire 816 performed well in Taiwan, India, China and the Middle East.
HTC says that the One (M8) continued to do well in Q3 2014 as well, holding its own against “stiff competition.”
While HTC’s Q3 2014 may not have been quite as strong as some of its competitors, it’s definitely better than its Q3 2013, which saw HTC lose NT$2.97 billion ($97.453 million USD). Now we have to see if HTC’s Desire and One (M8) phones can continue to make it some cash through the holiday season and carry it through to the unveiling of its next flagship.
