Which iPhone 6 are you pre-ordering?

The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus will go on sale beginning September 19. That’s a date that some people have had circled on their calendar ever since Apple officially announced the September 9 media event, and now that it’s official, I’m sure it can’t come soon enough for quite a few people out there in the world. The iPhone 6 is an upgrade in all of the right ways, especially if you’re someone who has been waiting for iOS to be on a bigger display.

So, the wait is finally (almost) over. In 8 days there are going to be a lot of lines at a lot of different retail locations all across the United States, as people focus on getting their hands around the latest and greatest smartphone from Apple. The 19th will be another busy day as more hands-on pieces go up, and we start to see more and more people get to use the new device.

There’s a lot to love about the iPhone 6 lineup, and there’s obviously some parts that might not suit you. It’s all down to personal opinion, as usual, so the one thing to keep in mind is this: not everyone is going to like what you like, and sometimes  (all the time) it’s okay to let them like other things. As long as they’re happy, you’re happy, right?

So, the question is, how happy did the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus make you? Is this going to be the iPhone that gets you to switch from another platform? Is it that good? Or, is this the iPhone that you’re willing to wait in a line for for the first time ever? Are you going to be awake at 12:01 AM PST to make sure you get a pre-order slot?

I’m just curious which device you’re getting.

The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are the same handset, if you ignore the screen size and the minor tweaks to software implemented for the larger handset. That’s why this year, unlike the launch of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, the main differentiator between the two potential purchases for a customer could come down to the display size. Don’t get me wrong, the bigger handset does have extra battery life, and I’m sure that will be a selling point for many.

But, for example, getting a few extra hours out of the battery should be important to me, but I just don’t want the bigger display. I think the 4.7-inch screen size is perfect, and I can’t wait to try it out with an iPhone 6. That’s why the software tweaks and the battery life in the iPhone 6 Plus just don’t resonate with me. I don’t want a phone that big. Yeah, I’m missing out on those things, but it won’t be the first time, and it won’t be the last.

So, I’m curious: which model are you pre-ordering, or otherwise picking up when it becomes available? Let me know!
