New iPad may come equipped with anti-reflection screen

Apple’s new iPhone is expected to grow in size this year, jumping from a 4-inch screen to a 4.7-inch display and possibly even a 5.5-incher. The iPhone isn’t the only Apple device that could be getting a major new feature this year, though, as a new rumor suggests that the iPad could be a big improvement as well.

A report from Bloomberg claims that the larger iPad model could sport an “anti-reflection coating” that would make its screen easier to read in light. Sources say that the new 9.7-inch iPad has already entered production and that a new 7.9-inch iPad mini is about to begin production.

Both the iPad Air and iPad mini got big updates last year, with the former getting a tweaked design and the latter gaining a Retina display, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see radical changes with either tablet this year. An anti-reflection coating sounds like a nice addition, though, especially for anyone that likes to take their tablet out of the house and use it in the bright sunlight.
