LG launched the G3 in its home country of South Korea at the tail end of May, but so far we haven’t seen the Quad HD smartphone hit store shelves of any other countries. That’s going to change soon, though, as LG has revealed its rollout plans for its new flagship smartphone.
LG announced tonight that it will begin rolling the G3 out around the globe on June 27. Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines are next in line to get the G3, followed by the rest of Asia, Europe, the Middle East and “other regions” in July.
LG says that the G3 will gain “unique features” in some markets to improve the user experience. For example, models sold in Europe and Asia will include support for Qi wireless charging.
With its 5.5-inch 2560x1440 display, 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel camera and 3000mAh battery, the LG G3 looks like it’s got what it takes to be one of the top smartphones of 2014. That’s why it’s exciting to learn that the Life’s Good crew will make the G3 available to many more consumers over the next month or so.
As for the U.S., neither LG nor any carriers have announced specific G3 launch dates. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have all confirmed that they’ll be carrying the device, though, with Sprint planning a release for sometime in July.
