Late last Friday, the jury in the latest trial between Apple and Samsung handed down its verdict, awarding $119.6 million in damages to Apple and $158,400 to Samsung. Today the jury got back together to reexamine one part of its ruling and ended up reworking the numbers a bit.
The jury in the Apple-Samsung case awarded Apple another $4 million in damages related to the Galaxy S II and an autocorrect patent owned by Apple. However, the jury also adjusted the damages that resulted from other infringing Samsung products, resulting in a final damages total for Apple that’s basically the same as its previous $119.6 million decision.
Apple previously said that it was “grateful” for the jury’s decision, which it says backs up its claim that Samsung copied its ideas and products. Of course, the nearly $120 million that Samsung will have to fork over to Apple isn’t likely to put a dent in the Korean device maker’s wallet, but I’m sure that Apple is more pleased with its victory and about the cash it’ll be getting.
