Samsung Galaxy S5 Google Play edition quietly pops up in Play Store

Neither Google nor Samsung have made any official announcements regarding a Google Play edition Samsung Galaxy S5, but it sure looks like such a device is coming.

As you can see in the screenshot above, someone at Google has swapped out the thumbnail of the Galaxy S 4 GPe with a Galaxy S5 GPe. However, clicking on the link takes you to the Galaxy S 4 GPe’s page, complete with images and specs for that model. The good news is that a large image of the Galaxy S5 GPe has been discovered by Droid-Life. You can find that shot below.

Considering that Google has offered GPe versions of the Galaxy S 4, HTC One (M7) and One (M8), it wouldn’t be a shock to see it officially launch a Galaxy S5 GPe as well. Exactly how much that device may cost is still a mystery, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it come it with the same $649 that the Galaxy S 4 GPe currently carries.

What do you think of this Galaxy S5 Google Play edition? Will you buy one if it is indeed the real deal or would you prefer a different GPe device?
