Motorola Credit program may gain rewards

Last year, Motorola introduced its own credit program that enabled consumers to buy a new device and spread its cost out over several months. Now it appears that Motorola is considering making the credit program even more attractive by adding rewards to it.

According to Droid-Life, Motorola has sent surveys to existing members of the Motorola Credit program asking their thoughts about a couple of different benefit scenarios. The first is a free “Rewards” program that would let users perform unspecified activities, likely things like buying other Motorola products, and then exchanging reward points for goodies like extra Google Drive storage or a Google Play gift card.

The second scenario is an “Elite” program that would function like a membership club. In exchange for paying a monthly charge, members would get benefits like a free phone, discounts on accessories, etc.

While this is still very much unconfirmed, adding rewards to Motorola Credit could make the program more appealing to many people. I’m sure that there are quite a few folks that would normally just pay for a device outright, but instead would sign up for a Motorola Credit account just for the goodies.

What do you think of this rumor? Would you sign up for Motorola Credit if the company added rewards to the program?
