After announcing the G Watch alongside Android Wear last month, LG has been rather quiet about its upcoming wearable. The Life’s Good crew recently shared an additional render of the G Watch, but it hasn’t been forthcoming with real photos of the device or its pricing. That’s changed today, though, as the LG G Watch has finally been photographed in its natural habitat.
Pocket-lint has shared some photos of an LG G Watch that it says is a non-working prototype, but is representative of what the final product will look like. Just as in the renders that LG has shared previously, the G Watch is a black, buttonless square with rounded corners. The wearer described the G Watch as having a “solid, seamless build that wasn’t heavy but certainly felt premium.”
LG hasn’t revealed any of the G Watch’s spec details, but it has confirmed that the device’s strap will be user-replaceable. The company has also teased that the G Watch will be compatible with many different Android phones and that it’ll support voice commands like “Okay Google.”
So what about pricing and availability? LG previously said that the G Watch will launch in the second quarter of 2014, and it told Pocket-lint that its wearable will be available by July and that it’ll cost less than £180 in the U.K. That’s $301 in U.S. dollars, and while there haven’t been any official announcements regarding the G Watch’s U.S. price, a $300 price tag is definitely within the realm of possibility.
