Sprint Galaxy S5 pre-orders begin today, launch scheduled for April 11

The Samsung Galaxy S5 launch announcements roll on! This morning it's Sprint that's sharing its pre-order plans for Samsung's new flagship.

Sprint just revealed that it is now accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S5 both in stores and online. Pricing for Sprint's flavor of the GS5 is set at $199.99 with a 2-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate, $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $27.09 each with Sprint Easy Pay or $649.99 full retail. Sprint plans to offer the Galaxy S5 in both Charcoal Black and Shimmery White, and it says that the new handset will launch on April 11.

Sprint's version of the Galaxy S5 will be compatible with the carrier's tri-band Sprint Spark LTE service, which recently expanded to Provo, Utah, and Trenton, N.J., and is now available in a total of 18 markets. Meanwhile, Sprint says that its regular 4G LTE network recently expanded to new locales like Detroit, Mich.; Rochester, N.Y.; Manchester, N.H.; and Winston-Salem, N.C. Sprint's LTE network now covers 402 cities and is expected to reach 250 million people by mid-2014.

Sprint is also running a limited time promotion in which it'll give a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 to customers that buy a Galaxy S5 on a Framily Plan with Easy Pay. The Galaxy Tab 3 comes free with a 2-year commitment.

In addition to launching the Galaxy S5, Sprint plans to begin offering the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit on April 11. Here's how Sprint's pricing and color options for the three wearables break down:
