AT&T promised that it would begin accepting pre-orders for its version of the curvy LG G Flex on Jan. 24, and it looks like Ol' Blue has kept its word. The G Flex is now available for pre-order from AT&T's website at a price of $299.99 with a two-year contract, $34.75 per month with AT&T Next 12, $26.73 per month with AT&T Next 18 or $649.99 without any kind of commitment whatsoever. AT&T hasn't announced an actual launch date for its G Flex yet, but according to the pre-order page, units will begin shipping out on Feb. 4.
LG introduced us to the G Flex back in November, touting the phone's curved OLED display as being more ergonomic than a traditional phone and better for movie watching as well. We typically don't see unusual and unique Android handsets in the U.S. — for example, it doesn't look like Samsung's take on the curved phone, the Galaxy Round, will be released stateside — but LG is bucking that trend with the G Flex by launching it on three different U.S. carriers. It remains to be seen exactly how consumers will react to the G Flex, but here's to hoping that more device makers follow in LG's footsteps and start to bring some of their more adventurous designs to the States.
The LG G Flex features a 6-inch 720p OLED display on its face that curves from top to bottom. The backside of the G Flex's curvy frame is home to a 13-megapixel camera and G2-esque volume and power buttons, and packed inside of the handset is a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB storage and a beefy 3500mAh battery.
