Time to cross another name off of the list of major apps missing from Windows Phone. Today a beta version of Path made its way into the Windows Phone Store, giving Live Tile lovers another social network to check out. One thing that makes Path different from other social networks is that Path is a "private network" with a 150 friend limit that's meant to help users connect only with friends and family that they're truly close with.
The Path beta app comes complete with support for posting photos and videos, cross-posting to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare and Windows Phone-specific goodies like Live Tile updates, lock screen notifications and integration with Nokia's built-in imaging tools. The app is still a work-in-progress, and so there are several other features that will be added in the future. Those include Inner Circle functionality for sharing moments exclusively to a select group of friends, messaging, the sticker shop and more photo filters.
We've known for a while now that Path would eventually be making its way to Windows Phone, but there was never any mention of exactly when the app would actually arrive. It's finally here now, though, and so far Path looks like a nice addition to the Windows Phone Store. Its design definitely shouts "Windows Phone!" and, while it's currently missing a handful of features found on other platforms, I'm sure that those will be added in the coming months as development of the app continues.
