Amber Gold HTC One max officially introduced

The HTC One max was only available in silver for quite a while following its October debut, but that changed earlier this month with the introduction of new black and red versions of the aluminum-clad phablet. Now the One max has gotten itself even more new duds, as HTC has officially announced a gold version of the device.

Officially known as the "Amber Gold" variant of the One max, this latest paint job is similar to the golden HTC One that debuted in November. The gold One max pairs an aluminum body that appears to be colored a light, champagne-like hue with black plastic accents that are similar to what's used on the black and silver versions of the device. Outside of the new paint job, this golden HTC One max is just like its giganto-siblings, complete with a 5.9-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and 32GB of built-in storage.

HTC says that the Amber Gold One max is now available at its 88 Taiwanese stores at a price of NT$23,900 ($797 USD). The company doesn't say when or if the golden phablet will make its way to other parts of the globe, but here's to hoping that it eventually does. After all, it's always great to have multiple color options when considering a new device, and even though the word "ostentatious" probably springs to mind for some when hearing about a golden phone, I think that the One max's Amber Gold paint job looks pretty classy.

What do you think of the Amber Gold HTC One max? Are you a fan of the recent wave of golden smartphones that we've seen lately?
