Looks like Amazon's not the only one that's in the giving mood. Much like it did over Cyber Weekend, Google is now gifting free and discounted in-app content, movies, books and music to celebrate the holiday season. Here's a sampling of the goodies that El Goog's got on offer:
- In-app content: Savings on Tetris Blitz powerups, participate in "Google Cup" race in Asphalt 8: Airborne, $50 off first hotel booking of $200 or more with Expedia app
- Books: Free copies of "A Visit From St. Nicholas" and "Chronicle Books for Cooks: Eating Well Made Delicious"
- Movies: Rent movies like "The Polar Express," "A Christmas Story" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" for $1.99
- Music: Free downloads of "Jingle Bells" by Trombone Shorty and "Christmas At The Airport" by Nick Lowe
- TV: Free download of "True Blood" pilot as well as discounts on full seasons
Overall Google's got quite a bit of content in its holiday promotion, and so most folks shouldn't have a problem finding at least one piece of free or discounted content that they're interested in. And hey, even if there isn't anything that catches your eye, you can check out the video that Google put together that shows off how the company made the paper art decorations that cover its store.
