Sprint, U.S. Cellular Galaxy S IIIs getting Android 4.3 updates today

The Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.3 updates continue to roll out to U.S. carrier-branded models today, with the Sprint and U.S. Cellular variants next in line to receive some fresh Jelly Beans. First up, Sprint has announced on its support site that the Android 4.3 update for its Galaxy S III will start rolling out today, Nov. 22. The update bumps the GSIII up to L710VPBMK3 and includes the following goodies:

  • OS upgrade to Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean)
  • Samsung Galaxy Gear compatibility
  • Samsung Knox compatibility
  • Premium Suite Features:
  • Group Play 2.5
  • Multi-Window (Galaxy S 4 Version)
  • Camera –Sound & Shot
  • Group Messaging
  • Samsung Link (Preload)

The U.S. Cellular-flavored Galaxy S III should start seeing its own Android 4.3 update today as well. The update will bring the USCC GSIII up to software version JR003L.R530UVXUBMJA brings with it a newer version of Jelly Bean, some bug fixes and likely the same Premium Suite goodies that've hit the other Galaxy S III variants to date.

If you're rocking a Galaxy S III on Sprint or U.S. Cellular and feel like munching on some Jelly Beans for breakfast, you can check for your Android 4.3 update manually by going into Settings > About device > Software update. U.S. Cellular also says that its customers can upgrade the old-fashioned way by plugging their handset into a PC and using Samsung's Simple Upgrade Tool to install the new update.
